Lynne Alterman, Duck & Wine Festival Event Chairperson had the privilege of presenting cash awards to winning chefs in both judging categories of Best Dish 2011 and People’s Choice 2011. First place winners also selected a local charity to receive a grant of $500 in their name. Left: In the category of People’s Choice, first place winner was Todd Bryant, Paper Canoe Restaurant in Duck, and in their name a grant of $500 went to Chris Kelly from Outer Banks Relief Foundation. Also shown is Fin & Claw chef, Evan Hayes, receiving the 2nd place award in the Best Dish category. Right: Roadside Grill, chef Jason Rister, received two third place awards from each category. This was their first time participating in the event.
 
Left: Chef Dave McClary and owner, John Powers, from Blue Point, were again the first place winners for Best Dish. The Beach Food Pantry will receive a grant in their name for $500. Right: Metropolis chef, Matt Anthony, receives the award as 2nd place winner in People’s Choice.
