The Currituck-Dare Community Foundation

The Currituck-Dare Community Foundation was organized in 1999 and is one of 60 affiliate community foundations serving 67 counties working in partnership with the North Carolina Community Foundation. The North Carolina Community Foundation manages over 1,200 endowed funds for charitable purposes.

The Currituck-Dare Community Fund is a component fund of the NCCF. The earnings from this fund are made available to help other local nonprofits address community needs through an annual grant program. Grant applications and information about grants are available on the NCCF website:

Over $17,500 from the 2016 Festival was distributed to the charitable partners and through the grants process to local nonprofit organizations working to address community needs.

Duck & Wine Charitable partners:

Each charitable partner will distribute hand-outs about their programs and services. We hope you will take the time to read about these worthwhile organizations. All of our partners work hard to address local needs and services to residents and visitors alike.

  • Kids First: Providing therapeutic and effective treatment services to children who have been abused or severely neglected, in Northeast North Carolina.
  • Mano al Hermano: Helping Latinos in the Dare County region access needed services, solve problems, obtain necessary skills to become self-sustaining, and to build a better community for all Dare County residents.
  • Room in the Inn: provides hospitality, food, shelter and some support services to homeless men and women on the Outer Banks during the cold winter months.
